. The Sparkle Citidel . The Sparkle Citidel is a daunting castle that looms over the land, both dark and brooding; a heavy contrast to the pastels of Dream Castle. It casts a shadow over you as you approach, chilling to the bone. You shiver, unsure if you should approach, when suddenly, a yellow pony has appeared by your side. "Unusual to find humans here," she says as her form of greeting. You stand back and notice that she is thin, very thing, slight in her build. She has pink hair that flows past her shoulders, and wears a jesters hat. She looks at you innocently and then grins wickedly. "Welcome to the Sparkle Citidel!" She squeals and, as proof of her eccentricity, she performs a perfect backflip. "Come on, this way!" Once inside, walking through the dark corridoors, you wonder how this citidel got the name of Sparkle. Dull light filters through the stone halls, bouncing off the brown walls providing little warmth or light to see by. At the end of a mighty hall way, you see a pink shard of crystal. The yellow pony dashes towards it, fiddles with it, and then turns back to you with an enigmatic glint in her eyes. "Brace yourself," she says softly, and then, in an instant, she presses a button beside the crystal. The roof of the tower in which the crystal is sat opens, and a ray of sunlight bounces off the walls, directed straight for the crystal. With a blast of power, the crystal exploads with light, filling the hallway, and all the other hall ways, with the most beautiful, sparkling light display you have ever seen. The walls' dark brown hue fades into the soft pastels of pink and you find yourself utterly amazed by the magic of this place. The yellow pony comes towards you now. "Now," she says mischieviously, "this is better than Dream Castle any day, no?" You utter a reply and she giggles. "I'm Trixibelle, local nutter. This, as I've said, is the Sparkle Citidel, and it's home to the pony monarchy that reigns over the lands from the Friendship Gardens to the Alchemy Woods." "Alchemy Woods"? You remember that name. "I thought that was near Dream Valley?" "Ah...yes, the woods are. But they are huge, and neither Majesty's crown nor ours can govern those that live within it. The Alchemy Woods saw to it that they would have no monarchy years ago." She sighs, "but, enough of the darkness. Come, meet the new royalty!"
The new royal ponies (the original ones, not the clones such as Lady Light Heart and Princess Morning Glory) are among my favourite ponies. They are so beautiful, and so enigmatic for the simple fact that only a few European countries have gotten them. England, I'm very sad to say, never had the honour of obtaining most. Luckily, I own the majority of them thanks to a spur of the moment trip to France, and I thought I would go through their official notes in detail, with pictures and information, as well as my own personal (and, let's face it, often twisted) ideas on their roles and personalities. Enjoy!
